Piet Mondrian New York City I Socks

New York City I, or rather Mondrian's series later compiled under the title New York City, marks the beginning of a new phase in Mondrian's works. The painting differs from his 1918 composition in that the areas of colour and grey contours have been replaced by a white background and coloured outlines.
