In 1869, Paul Cézanne met his future wife Hortense Fiquet, who was working as an artist's model in Paris. Over the next 25 years he painted nearly 30 portraits of her, including the two images reproduced here, Portrait of Madame Cézanne and Woman with a Green Hat.
