A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte (French: Un dimanche après-midi à l'Île de la Grande Jatte) was painted in 1884 in pointillist technique and is Seurat's most famous work. Seurat's composition shows a row of Parisians on the banks of the Seine.
